We've shipped improvements to make Babbily work better on mobile and touch devices, plus refinements to citations and personalization.
Mobile and touch improvements
Long-press to open context menus
You can now long-press on chat threads in the sidebar and on media items in your library to open the context menu, without needing a right-click or hover. This makes renaming and deleting easier on touch devices.
Larger tap targets and better layout on small screens
Header and sidebar controls now have larger tap areas for easier use on phones. Long titles and links truncate instead of overflowing, and dialogs and menus stay within the viewport on smaller screens. The sidebar uses improved viewport sizing for better behavior with mobile browser chrome.
Always-visible action buttons on touch devices
Action buttons that previously appeared only on hover (e.g., in chat threads) are now always visible on touch devices, where hover is not available.
Citations and research
Clickable citation links
Citations from Perplexity models are now clickable. Inline citation markers like [1] open the cited source in a new tab. Citations save with your chat history and display correctly when you return to past conversations.
More reliable link opening
Links in AI responses now open in a new tab more consistently when you tap or click them.
Avatars and personalization
Facehash avatars
Your avatar is now generated with Facehash across the app: in chat messages, the sidebar header, and settings. You can choose from several color palettes and styles in your profile settings, and your choice saves to your account.
Chat experience
Chat input area polish
The chat input area has a subtle fade gradient above it so it blends more smoothly with the content above, and the input bar has a solid background for clearer separation from the conversation.
Delete option in context menus
You can delete chat threads and library media directly from the context menu (right-click or long-press). The menu stays within the screen bounds and closes when you tap or click outside.
Model selection improvements
Model ordering is more consistent, and the default model is chosen more reliably. Your selected model is cleared when you log out, so you start with a fresh selection on the next login.
